iLAB - Innovative Online English Learning System

iLAB is our most innovative and unique 24 hour online English learning system. It is an online highly-interactive self-study component that allows students to practice English and communicate with their foreign teachers anywhere, anytime, as much as they want. Not only does EF's online course help students improve their English on all aspects, it also helps students gain the ability to work on their own and manage their time efficiently. As a result, students learn more and faster than if they were to learn in a traditional classroom.

Flexible online course setting

Our online courses, divided into units, address all language skills critical to language learning ¨C from speaking, listening, reading to writing. It offers comprehensive, engaging, yet flexible intensive language training. Even if students sit at home, this online course will still allow a strong and dynamic student-teacher interaction. There are two types of spoken English courses offered:

Online small group course consists of four levels from beginner, pre-intermediate, intermediate to advance according to students' English level. You will benefit from a wealth of wide-ranging topics that cover business, finance, travel, social, culture and many other situational conversation settings.

Online one-on-one course offers a language program that is tailored to meet students' needs. It allows students to choose their preferred subjects from those prepared by EF. Teachers will not only use our specially designed teaching materials but will also prepare some other useful materials which benefit students¡¯ English learning process. Through this online spoken English course, students could communicate with teachers and other students from all over the world. This is not just a language learning course, but a window to communicate to the world.

Unique online writing course

In addition to the online Spoken English course, EF also offers innovative online writing course. Student could upload the articles they wrote to iLAB and our teacher will comment on it within 48 hours. The teachers' feedbacks will include grammar and spelling corrections, scores of the article and suggestions on how to improve the writing skills.

Powerful online study tools

iLAB is geared with many useful tools, such as Study Plan, Pronunciation Lab, Translator, Vocabulary Card and PodEnglish. Study Plan is an integrative tracking tool that allows students to balance their work and study. Through Study Plan, students could keep a close eye on their learning progress and consistently evaluate how far away they are from their study goals. The system will track the results and the amount of time students spent on each practice. In order to make the plan more reasonable, students could manually adjust the time allocation for each practice session. In our online Pronunciation Lab, students could choose to practice either American English or British English. Grammar Lab is equipped with various interesting video clips and word documentation. Error correction practice also strengthens the grammatical and lexical knowledge which student just learnt.

Real global student online study and communication platform

We design our online course to its smallest details to make it more appealing. That¡¯s the reason why EF online course is not only a place to learn, it is also a way to make new friends, network and socialize. In online student center, we provide Campus Chat room, video learning resources sharing, specially designed English games and online communities created by students themselves. This not only builds up the interaction among students, but also creates a better atmosphere of helping and learning from each other. Students from all over the world could easily upload their articles and business mails on this online platform to share their learning experiences and results as well as to develop better English learning methods.
