Learning Outcomes

Listening

Listening

Students work together with teachers and classmates to identify vocabulary and practice grammar, and to understand meaning in longer sentence groups. At lower levels, we mainly focus on training students' listening skills through grammar and word exercises. However, we focus more on increasing students' abilities to understand the full dialogue and make the right responses at upper levels.

Our students can learn:

1 . Phonics / Syllables

Getting familiar with the alphabet and their individual and combined sounds

2 . Words / Phrases

Building vocabulary and being able to comprehend simple ideas

3 . Full sentences / Conversations

Being able to understand others and use discussion to continue learning

Reading

Reading

Teachers guide literacy development throughout the course with specific reading exercises called "readers". These increase in difficulty gradually throughout the course, helping children develop reading confidence and a foundation for academic success. We mainly focus on word spelling and word recognition at lower levels. However, at upper levels, we focus more on enhancing reading comprehension, grammar and retelling stories.

Our students can learn:

1 . Phonics (sounds) / Syllables

Developing reading skills in class and at home by getting familiar with English sounds and syllables first

2 . Words / Simple sentences

Providing a format to introduce and practice target vocabulary and functional language

3 . Full sentences / Blocks of text

To read using their target language and reading skills with less illustration support

Writing

Writing

Students begin by learning to form basic letter shapes by first tracing, then copying words and sentences, and eventually becoming able to write their own short stories. At lower levels, we focus on the training of tracing texts, coping words and the correct use of punctuation. However, we focus more on the cultivation of students' creativity and their understanding of grammatical structure at upper levels.

Our students can learn:

1 . Tracing

Exercising muscle movement to get familiar with English characters and develop mechanical accuracy

2 . Copying words

Building writing skills through repetition, immediate feedback, and correction

3 . Writing

Producing assigned words and sentences to learn independent writing and grammatical structures

4 . Creative writing

Producing larger samples of content to build confidence in written expression
